Supporting quality education through sustainable infrastructure
Education is a cornerstone of sustainable development, and quality learning environments are essential to helping students and communities reach their full potential. Through its partnership with Enabel, the Belgian agency for international cooperation, Sumadhura Technologies Ltd is contributing to the development and improvement of educational infrastructure in Uganda.
A Partnership Driving Development
Uganda and Belgium have maintained a development partnership for more than 30 years. Today, Enabel supports Uganda in implementing key priorities under its National Development Plan IV and the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, with particular emphasis on improving access to, retention in, and completion of quality secondary education.
As Belgium’s agency for international cooperation, Enabel works with local and international partners to address pressing global challenges, including climate change, social and economic inequalities, demographic shifts, peace, and security. Through its programmes, the agency supports initiatives that contribute to inclusive and sustainable development.

Sumadhura Technologies and Enabel: A Growing Collaboration
Sumadhura Technologies has collaborated with Enabel since 2018, delivering infrastructure that supports educational institutions and their communities.
One notable achievement is the construction of a double-storey complex at Muni University in Arua, funded by Enabel. The project reflects the importance of investing in institutional infrastructure to support learning, teaching, and the broader development of higher education.
Building on this collaboration, Sumadhura is currently undertaking the Construction of New and Upgrading of Existing Facilities at Midigo and Kei Secondary Schools in Yumbe District, as part of the Enabel WeTeach projects.
The project focuses on constructing new facilities and upgrading existing infrastructure to help create more suitable learning environments for students and educators.
Investing in Education Through Infrastructure
Quality education requires more than a curriculum and qualified teachers. Schools and universities also need functional, safe, and appropriate facilities that enable teaching and learning to take place effectively.
Investments in educational infrastructure can help institutions accommodate learners, improve the learning environment, and strengthen their capacity to deliver education. By constructing new facilities and upgrading existing ones, projects such as those at Midigo and Kei Secondary Schools contribute to the broader effort to strengthen Uganda’s education system.
